State approves proposed General Election polling locations

Note: Sample ballot appears at the end of this post.


Registered voters in Owen County will have the option of voting in-person Nov. 3 at one of four locations.


The proposed polling places were approved at the state level Monday, Sept. 21. They are:


Owen County Extension Office

265 Ellis Rd.

Owenton, KY 40359


Lighthouse Church

5405 Hwy. 127 N.

Owenton, KY 40359


Monterey Volunteer Fire Department

10 Sawdridge Creek

Monterey, KY 40359


Hesler Assembly of God

25 Breck Rd.

Owenton, KY 40359


All registered voters in Owen County will be permitted to cast their ballot at any of the locations named above.


Owen County Clerk Laurel Stivers announced guidelines for early voting in the General Election last week.


Early voting will begin Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Clerk's Office, 136 W. Bryan St. No appointment is necessary, but masks and social-distancing are required when casting your early ballot.


The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 3 election is 4 p.m., Monday, Oct. 5.


Registered voters in Owen County may also visit elect.ky.gov to request a mail-in ballot or call the Clerk's Office at 484-2213 to receive an application for a mail-in ballot. Requests for mail-in ballots from both the online portal and the Clerk’s Office will cease at midnight, Friday, Oct. 9.


A mail-in ballot may be requested from the Clerk's Office after Oct. 9 in the case of a medical emergency only.


The deadline to file as a write-in candidate is 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23.
