Owen County Transfer Station Free Dumping Voucher Program

Beginning Jan. 1, 2021, the Owen County Transfer Station will implement a “Free Dumping Voucher Program.” The voucher program will take the place of the current Free Dump Day occurring on the last Saturday of each month.

The program will allow Owen County residents and property owners the convenience of free dumping from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday-Saturday.

Any resident or property owner that would like to participate must fill out a sign-up sheet at the Owen County Judge/Executive’s Office, 100 N. Thomas St., Owenton, KY 40359, or online at www.owencountyky.us/transfer-station-voucher-program. Once the office receives your sign-up sheet, you will be mailed a voucher that may be used for free dumping at the transfer station four (4) times within one calendar year.

The following rules apply: • You must be an Owen County resident OR own property in Owen County to participate. • Only one (1) voucher will be issued per household/property address. • Upon arrival at the transfer station, you must show an attendee your voucher and driver’s license. An attendee will punch your card and allow you to continue. • Trailers over 30’ will not be permitted access to free dumping. • As always, household trash, tires and commercial/industrial items are never free.

We are currently putting the final touches on the program with the goal of mailing the first shipment of vouchers by Dec. 1, 2020.

In addition to the Free Dumping Voucher Program, Owen County will continue to observe Commonwealth Cleanup Week each spring.

For questions, please call the Owen County Judge/Executive’s Office at (502) 484-3405 or email info@owencountyky.us.
