Owen County Clerk announces guidelines for early voting

Owen County Clerk Laurel Stivers recently announced guidelines for early voting in the Nov. 3, 2020 election.


Early voting is expected to begin Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Clerk's Office, 136 W. Bryan St. No appointment is necessary, but masks and social-distancing are required when casting your early ballot.


The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 3 election is 4 p.m., Monday, Oct. 5.


Registered voters in Owen County may also visit elect.ky.gov to request a mail-in ballot or call the Clerk's Office at 484-2213 to receive an application for a mail-in ballot. Requests for mail-in ballots from both the online portal and the Clerk’s Office will cease at midnight, Friday, Oct. 9.


A mail-in ballot may be requested from the Clerk's Office after Oct. 9 in the case of a medical emergency only.


In-person voting on Election Day will be offered at four locations — Hesler Assembly of God, the Monterey Volunteer Fire Department, Lighthouse Church, and the Owen County Extension Office — from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Election Day.


Election Day polling locations are subject to change pending approval at the state level.


The deadline to file as a write-in candidate is 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23.
