The General Election is quickly approaching, with some important information to remember.
> The deadline to register to vote is 4 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022. You may register online at https://vrsws.sos.ky.gov/ovrweb/ or in person at the Owen County Clerk's Office, 136 W. Bryan St., Owenton. You may register to vote if you are 17 years old, as long as you are 18 years old by Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022.
> The deadline to request an absentee ballot is 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022. You may request a ballot by visiting https://vrsws.sos.ky.gov/abrweb/ where you will find a list of requirements for absentee voting.
> Owen County will once again utilize its Voting Centers for the General Election, meaning any registered voter may vote one (1) time at any of the following locations on Election Day: Owen Electric Cooperative, the Owen County Extension Office, Dallasburg Baptist Church, Hesler Assembly of God, New Columbus Baptist Church, or the Monterey Volunteer Fire Department.
> Dates for in-person absentee voting are forthcoming.
