Fiscal Court names King Senior Center Director

Margina King

OWENTON, Ky. (June 23, 2023) – The Owen County Fiscal Court is pleased to announce the hiring of Margina King as Owen County Senior Center Director.

“Margina comes to us with a passion for working with older adults and the goal of making a difference in their day-to-day lives,” said Owen County Judge/Executive Stuart Bowling. “We are excited to have her on board and share her enthusiasm for expanding activities and outreach for our older adult population.”

A native of Owen County, Margina resided in Williamstown for nearly 20 years before returning to her hometown in 2020 for her son to attend Owen County Schools. Her official start date with the Senior Center was June 8.

“Before taking the position as director of the senior center, I worked remotely for a medical company and helped my husband with his trucking business,” Margina said. “My background is in medical and business as I owned my own clothing boutique in Williamstown called Shadows of Yesterday Boutique.”

Margina has hit the ground running in her new position, working to implement daily activities and speakers that center attendees will enjoy and learn from, as well as monthly trips.

“There will be different things going on that will be new to the center,” Margina added. “Keep a watch for our monthly calendar that will be posted to our Facebook page, as well as on the door to the center, or just come and introduce yourself and we will give you information and talk with you.”
